The end is near
I haven't been here in quite some time.
My brother has somehow managed to make it this far.
He has Hep C, Cirrhosis, emphysema, cancer, congestive heart failure and pneumonia.
He is in long term care, completely out of his min.
He shouts nonsensical numbers and phrases and doesn't respond to anyone.
Not eating or taking his meds. Weighs about 100 lbs
We went to see him yesterday and I will NOT go back
I do not want to remember him like this.
This is a heartbreaking disease, it steals your life inch by inch.
And everyone who loves you suffers.
My sweet brother has been absent for many years, may he finally achieve peace.

littlesister….I understand your pain. I know that you love him very much. So many of us have faced this with our loved one.....
My heart goes out to you....
You are not alone....and, I am glad that you came here to tell us...we can understand more than mere words can say....

Littlesister1,
I'm sorry for the hurt you have been through these years. Try and remember the good times with your brother and I hope peace for both you and him. Take care of yourself and try and stay strong.

Littlesister, im sorry you have to witness that sweetheart.
Remember him how he was if it is too painful for you. He would understand .
Plus he probably would not like you to remember him this way.
Savour your happy memories, this disease is so heartbreaking.
Sending you much love

Exactly how I feel...we all grieve for loved ones who haven't passed on yet. I will pray for your peace and his as well. My daughter is the "little sister" of my alcoholic son...my heart breaks reading your post.
