Day 4
Day 4
Feeling much better Cant wait for the Benzo taper to wear off. Wife says Im worse than drunk on them. Started working on solutions. Since I have high blood pressure getting back on my bike is a priority. Used to ride 3500 miles a year and Ive got less than 1000. Gonna be therapeutic! Also going to be on SR a lot and have an appointment with a therapist - did anxiety lead to drinking or did drinking enhance my anxiety (duh). Tried AA before but it didnt click. Im a very introverted person but I may try again. Looking at AVRT and Smart also.
Im a professional with a high pressure job and they are already giving the juicy assignments to my associate since Im off for a week. Thinking about coming clean with the boss for the absence.
Thanks
One day at a time! I have a goal

My advice is do NOT come clean on the job after 4 days sober...if you have 4 months sober and you want to come clean on the job...than wait.
Once you oust that you are out because of a drinking problem..every problem issues...or sideways glance you give will be because of a drinking problem....don't do it...

Missy and Harriet, I will heed your advise. As far as they know now, Im off for problems related to my extremely high blood pressure (not far from the truth because it was in the hypertensive crisis zone when they tested it). Down to stage two hypertension today). I have started to manage it better and my goal is to obviously get it down further. I have a list of things I decided to do based on "Recovery, rehabilitation and responsibility". Quit drinking, eat right and exercise and take responsibility for all of my actions.
Thanks for the advise.

Thanks everybody! I am doing great A week ago tonight at 6:00pm I poured out my booze. On day 6 now. Yesterday, I cleaned out my "bottle farm", man what a depressing yet enlightening experience that was. I really didnt know how far I had sunken but on the bright-side, it was additional proof that I can never drink again. Must have been $100's of dollars worth of empty's. Some lucky dumpster driver is going to make bank recycling them
Also, went on my first bike ride in ages this AM. It felt great.

^^^that's great! And the "bottle farm"...omg. I still wonder if the new people in one place I lived have found the laundry baskets (3?) of wine bottles I hid in a back corner of the attic. That pops up in my head sometimes and is a super reminder of what I never have to throw out when packing again
