Day 2 Done

Day 2. Had some thoughts to just go buy another bottle but am so sick of waking up completely dried out, tongue like sandpaper, eyes dry. Tired of saying today I will not drink then convincing myself it is ok by the time work is over. The hardest thing tonight was the overwhelming sense of boredom. Hopefully that passes with finding other healthy habits.

Yamaha FZ1?

For years and years I used love to find a new AA meeting somewhere in the valley and ride there on my Suzuki Hayabusa or BMW R1150GS.

A fantastic boredom remedy!

'grats on 2 days!

Every thing gets better when you commit to recovery BP - not right away - but you have to have faith...just takes a little time

Give yourself more time to get back to normal. It gets better, I promise.

That is the ticket. Wasted too much daylight after work drinking. Now time to take out the FZ1 or TE450! Thanks man!

A couple of people already brought this up, but set up a schedule to go to meetings of alcoholics, every night. They can be AA meetings or something else if it's available. This worked so well for me as a remedy to sitting at home bored or worse yet, fighting cravings. Part of sobriety is creating space for other things to do besides drinking yourself silly. Much of this will happen naturally over the years, but you can also start right now, and at two days into this thing, getting together with other alcoholics makes perfect sense. For me it was also rewarding.

Very proud of you bp. Those first few days are so rough - but you're doing it. We promise it won't stay this intense - things will settle down.

The early days are tough so very good for you. It gets better, it gets easier and it sure gets more interesting. Give yourself some time to settle in and don't be too hard on yourself. Find some good movies or go for a walk or pick up a hobby you didn't have "time" for. It will all be good- just takes some time.

Congrats on your sober time- be proud.

Doing pretty good so far. Day 5 almost done. Super tired, headache. All minor in comparison to the alternative. Just taking it day by day trying not to think too far into the future. I know my body is trying to figure out what the heck is going on haha. Hopefully I feel more normal soon. Thanks for checking!
