Checking in - this is when I usually relapse

40 days. I have no big revelation. Just posting cause I usually stop posting and then life happens and give in. My goals are: do the next right thing and turn my will over to a higher power. Not me.

I only posted once when I wanted a drink and it DID WORK. I didn't pick up that night.
I'm impressed that you are doing it.
Anything you want to talk about?

One day, one second at a time. You CAN do it. You’re stronger than a substance that cares not that you exists. You put more into this relationship than it does. You deserve a partner that loves and respects you.

I promise that alcohol is not that partner you’ve been waiting your whole life to meet.

Your goals should facilitate recovery. Add self-improvement, inventory and spiritual growth and you’ll be working a healthy recovery program.

If you deepen your recovery, as suggested above, it will naturally lengthen.

Do more, more frequently, with great intensity, like your life depends on it, because it does in the end.

How’s it going Press? Why don’t you check in on the 24 hour thread as well, that’s another great support.

For me short term goals work. Try and find some event a week from now and set that as your goal.

Actually this is a huge revelation! Congrats on the self realization. The small stuff, many times, isn't actually small.

Your post also impacts me, because it reminds me to keep doing the next right thing and I will get to keep the life I have today!

Thank you for posting!

Agreed on the 24 hour thread. I used it for awhile and it was a great way to stay grounded in each day and have a place to let everyone know I was still pushing forward.

Every time you post instead of drinking, or do something for your recovery, you are rewriting the narrative in your head regarding drinking. Soon it won't feel like an effort at all, and the days will just keep adding up.

You're doing great. Keep checking in, keep working on yourself, you can do this.

Living life and letting life happen are wonderful things. You’ve been given good suggestions to keep posting here & other threads 24 hour, a class thread, any of the gratitude threads etc)... it’s all good stuff.,
