Day 6
Day 6 today and all is reasonably well. My manager asked if I wanted to share that I was doing sober October, I said no but someone guessed - I was gobsmacked that every single team member stated that there was no way they could or would go without alcohol for that length of time.
Went to pub to see friends today, so many people came up and shook my hand and said they wished they could give up- I told them I was only on day 6 and I was stopping drinking until I decided otherwise- no expectations- no pressure. Again they were amazed at 6 days which I have to say sounds a little bizarre.
After 4 pints of lime and soda I said to the bar maid, shall I have another lime and soda, go home or have a strongbow cider, she said the cider wasn’t an option as It would make no sense and she wouldn’t serve it to me anyway- so one more lime and soda and went home for a lovely roast dinner.
Looking forward to day 7

Congrats with day 6! I am also on day 6, going on a full week when I wake in the am. I'm new here so still trying to figure out how everything works here. Just reading threads right now. This forum is very helpful and enencouraging. This Is my second try at giving up alcohol. I was a heavy drinker. I think this is it this time. Sick of being sick and tired and living the way I was living. I'm ready to be reborn again. A new chapter I my life. It can only get better from here on out

I suppose it’s all to do with my ASD and my routines in the early days, luckily it a locals pub, a real community pub so people are aware I’m not drinking. I only go when I know who’s going to be working and I know that they will be ultra supportive.
