Eight weeks and just checking in
It is eight weeks today since I stopped drinking. I can hardly believe it....that I actually managed to finally do it.
I keep thinking about a monster G&T or a bucket of wine (mainly when there is an advert on TV), but then just do not fancy it at all. Not just because of the after-effects the next day, but I just do not want one.
This is a good feeling :-)
I watch a UK baking competition (GBBO), and there was a young guy on it using alcohol in a cake who said something along the lines of "I am not a drinker of alcohol. Maybe a glass of prosecco at a wedding, but no, not me."
I just thought that was such a cool thing to say, and his statement wasn't challenged at all.

I wondered where you’d got to, Badga. Looks like you’re over the worst of the withdrawals now, so very well done. Like you, I wish I’d had that young baker’s attitude to alcohol when younger, but someone else can have my Prosecco at weddings now 🙂
