Bored, uninspired...
I caught a cold and found myself laid up and listless. I'm on the mend but fell off my 90 in 90. I want to go to the gym, respond to work emails, play guitar, go outside! But I'm weighed down. Help.
Yeah feeling ill can be challenging.
Someday you just got accept you feel poorly. When you feel better in a day or two, things will look better.
You can still try for 90 in 90 tho I reckon - an extra meeting here, one there, you'll make it up

Don’t fret 90 in 90 if you can’t make it because of illness; it’s just an arbitrary number anyway. The key thing is honesty and prioritising your sobriety and mental well-being. If you’re honestly too ill to make meetings and you would if you could then that’s what matters imo. Trust the universe and accept everything as it is 🙏
If it will really affect your well-being not getting to 90 in 90 like Dee says you can always do 2/3 meetings in a day

Hey there Press - sorry you are sick, and I remember needing to double up at least once to try for my planned 90 in 90. I think I ultimately made 82/90 and it was because a few days were just about getting thru the day or being at the dr.
Be gentle with yourself, visit us or rest (or both!) and remember this will pass. Don't drink. Take care.

What are you doing to build up your mind aside from your muscles?
When you cut out booze, the many hours you could mentally check out are suddenly there to be filled with something.
You need to actively work to find that something press or the boredom could lead you back to the bottle.
This seems to be a cycle with you in the past. What about doing something to change the elements and thus create a different outcome?

One Friday in early sobriety I decided to see how many meetings I could hit in one day. That number turned out to be five!
I hit 120 in 90. I don't think there's any magic in those numbers, though. It was a good way to get me out of my own head - which was a dangerous place if left unattended.
Hope you feel better!

Well maybe let yourself be sick. Sucks but the silver lining could be some rest, some yummy food that you normally wouldn't eat. I dunno. But its ok to be sick.
And you could also see staying back from the gym and meetings for a couple days as saving the rest of us from getting sick too. I mean, I will never resent someone showing up to a meeting coughing and sneezing if that's what they gotta do. But uh, I'll be moving to the other side of the room. My home group has some serious old timers....so we all try to respect that a cold for us could be life threatening for them.
Hang in there. Nurture yourself. Then get back at it as soon as you can!

With my time being limited due to work and my kid, unless it's a kid free weekend, I have to choose between the gym or AA. More times than not, I've chosen the gym. For me personally, the sweat and mental boost exercise provides me makes me feel much better than an AA meeting.
An hour at an AA meeting or an hour or two at the gym, either way he's not in the bottle. He may find that obsessive exercise makes him both mentally and physically capable?
Different strokes....

I also wasn’t suggesting a meeting. Developing a new or once-loved interest or hobby might offer a positive focus.
