Relapse

Hi everyone, newcomer here, just looking for support I’m in early recovery.....relapsed very recently, but I’m learning more about my triggers and what led to it, it’s a process, and finding difficulties in dealing with the deep depression that happens after a few days sober, all the feelings I numbed with my substance are in full force

Hi niblet. Sorry you relapsed but glad you’re here. You will definitely find support here. Figuring out your triggers is huge. Kudos on that. What else is in your recovery plan?

I am just on day 3. Feeling just as miserable. The emotions may get worse before they get better.

They do. I found 2 weeks to be a pretty consistent bookmark on when my roller coaster emotions balanced out and I was back to normal. Relatively speaking, of course.

Unfortunately that is part of the process. But the more sober time the better you will handle it. Just think you'll never have to go thru that again. Feel me. ✌
