Four months sober

Hey guys, just my usual monthly check-in. I am still sober. And it is going well.

To anyone new, when people say it gets easier they're not lying. Just get through that godforsaken first month by any means necessary. And then push on from there.

Peace.

Congratulations!

Keep hanging on, it was still quite a bit of a roller coaster for me over the first 12 months. The good thing is that the easier times occurred more and more often.

Thanks all! I'm only bumping this 'cause I just picked up my chip at AA, and I have to say, boy does it feel good getting those chips! And congratulated by so many who've been there throughout.

I highly recommend it.

Boom!

Great news man. As I've said before to you, you are an example of what a person can achieve, even in the midst of circumstances challenging to sobriety. And you're right re: things getting easier, they also get better. Keep it moving. Good stuff.

Well said. I spent my first few weeks thinking every evening for the rest of my life would be spent fidgeting and trying to pass the time. It probably took me two to three months before I could relax in the evenings, but eight months on, any cravings are very rare.

That’s another reason not to drink. The urges would return, and we’d all be back to that first month feeling.

Well done again 😀

Tetrax, I’m late to your celebrations for 4 months (now plus) but you’re doing it with great finesse. 👏
