Over a week
Well today is day 8. In that time I’ve moved countries (again) well returned to my home country. But to a new part to be close to my boyfriend.
Been a mixed week. Helps been in a completely new space and environment. Helps a lot with the habits i’d developed.
Got some trial shifts in a Cafe lined up, so at least that’s away from bars/pubs.
Anyway feeling positive at the moment.

Eight days was a big leap for me. I could never make it past 3. When I finally understood that sobriety had to be a life long commitment, I made it to 8 with the usual cravings, but was then on my way. It's been 25 years now. My first joy in sobriety (and it was a big one) was realizing I could do it. That was somewhere into my second week. It often takes longer to get that point. I may have just been lucky. But there is a point in early recovery that seems to be almost a universal experience. They call it the pink cloud. I can't tell you when that hits. It's different for everyone. But you will know it when it happens.
Congratulations on day eight, that is awesome.
I'm glad you're feeling positive, that's invaluable in recovery.
I'm also glad you're closer to your boyfriend and have a new job lined up. Sounds like things are going swimmingly.
Just remember, there's nothing a drink will make better.
Best to you in sobriety.

I was so excited when I hit a week. Now I'm working on Year Six.
Well done! Keep it going. Pretty exciting about all the changes. I am sure you'll land on your feet. Just remember all emotions and thoughts will move on, don't grab on to them!
