Feels weird to be "normal"
I had a "normal" day...woke up..had Drs appt..which I showed up for!
I was missing appointments left and right drinking.
Paid my house taxes and people actually liked socializing with me in the tax building...Usually I would keep my head down while hungover or drunk paying these bills.
Then I went to check on my Dad..bought a pizza...
Never ate lunch when I was drinking.
Then came home later in the day..watered flowers...all flowers were dead when I was drinking..I had to buy 2 batches this year...Last year I had zero flowers.
Watched some of my shows that I tape...favorite ones..had some laughs....Never laughed drunk.
Cooked dinner...ATE dinner.
Actually washed my face, soaked my feet, used lotion on my arms and legs....put pajamas on...laying in bed reading all the posts people are posting about SAVING THEIR LIVES....
My sober life and drunk life are like night and day.
Sober is 100% better.

All my herbs and flowers died, and I probably didn't change the fish water often enough. Fish are fine now though with plenty of plants, the tough creatures.
Congrats Misssy!!! I was reflecting on going to bed sober these days and waking up so happy even if I had poor sleep!
I also missed apts all of the time and a lot of other things. I never made it to a commitment, I almost accepted the fact that I wouldn't make it. I have made almost every one now.
Go you!

Great post and it can be so important to really take these kind of days in. When that av voice chimes in from now and then, I try not to only remember the great things that have happened since I stopped drinking, but also the small things that really can be beautiful in their own way.

Hi, Missy! Sounds like a great day! I'm glad you are doing so well.
This thread reminds me of another wonderful thread you started a bit ago about daily accomplishments. http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...-im-sober.html

Love hearing this! Being "normal" and doing stuff others all around us have been doing feels awesome (and, yeah, weird!). I know now when I don't have energy for something there's a legit reason, too

I have a wonderful wife whom I love dearly.
I get up in the morning, clean up, get to work, people like and respect me, I try to help people accomplish their business and estate planning objectives.
I deal with people all day long every day.
I work with people in recovery (all stages) and I have for many years.
I have much more than i deserve.
