So I tried al Anon back last year, and the group just wasn’t a fit. They were very nice but it was a much older crowd (as I am only 21) and small. From there I didn’t go back, though I know you should, because I just couldn’t give myself the time and chalked it up to it’s not for me.

So today I tried again. I thought, my boyfriend is trying to stay sober so I should give myself the allowance to work on myself. And I can’t be happier with the decision. The new group I went to was a large supportive group of more varying ages. I ended up meeting a woman who’s story was so like mine it almost shocked me that we were two seperate people. I got her number and she’s very willing to be my sponsor through this.

Feeling a bit more content and at peace for a bit knowing this supportive group will be there next week.
