Nightmares
Nightmares
Glad to be up drinking my coffee this morning without a hangover... feels great!
It was a rough night though, tossing and turning with nightmares and excessive perspiration (yuck). Hoping there wont be many more nights like last night. I know my body is detoxing and that is more than likely the cause of a restless night.

Good to see you back. I don't know you but I would guess based on your 2007 SR forum join date that this has been an issue for you a long time. Well my fist AA meeting was in the 1990s and here I am with less than a year. But I'm not giving up!!!

Glad you woke up sober too!! The nightmares and incredibly excessive sweating are awful and for me, they did pass in a bit of a bumpy process.
I get the occasional drinking dream now- and still recall in elaborate detail one I had early on- but all this brain working out stuff does keep untangling itself.
Keep going!

Yes the 1st week of sobriety you can expect nightmares like clockwork. Nightmares and heavy sweats. I had them both. They never lasted much more than a week or so.
I know this sounds crazy but my dreams were so vivid and real that I felt like I was going to the movies every time I went to bed. I came to enjoy it like "what will be on tonight???" LOL!
But then I've never been prone to nightmares so mine never got too scary...just intensely vivid. Don't worry yours will go away sooner than later. The real nightmare is waking up drunk
