I finally coming to the realization that I am mortal. For the last 20+ years, I have been abusing whatever substance I could get my hands on. Alcohol is my main drug of choice and the only thing I was ever addicted to, but I abused many substances illegal and prescribed.

I am now 42 and starting to see health complications. I just recovered from a month long bout of eczema, which involved a very itchy rash all of my face. I have also been experiencing stiff swollen knee joints which I fear could be early signs of rheumatoid arthritis. My mother had the disease and it crippled her.

I have no doubt that alcoholism and the unhealthy lifestyle it brings is a major factor in experiencing these symptoms. I can no longer go on a 2 week drinking binge and be fine after withdrawal has ended.

Father Time has caught up to me....

It happens to all of us Canuck....only question is when. Forrtunately you have a choice to stop now before the really bad stuff sets in....do you think you’re ready to quit drinking?
