Got a sponsor
I went to a meeting. Got a newcomer chip. Got a sponsor. I feel weird like they should know I'm not "new". I gotta call my sponsor everyday at 930am. Do 90/90. I want to be humble. I feel like I'm starting to get this house concept. I don't know why people even care about me. You guys, the people at the meeting...That must be what an HP is.

PressMe.
You've just made my day! Way to go on picking up a desire chip and getting a sponsor. That is humility. I'll be attending a meeting with my son this morning when he picks up his 30 day chip. I'm so grateful I've lived long enough to see him sober. I wish you the best of luck in your journey. Thank you for posting.

Press, so glad to hear this. Even the tiniest bit of hopefulness can be enough to get us started- somehow I had to take the chance to live, having the same feelings as you do now....keep sharing here and IRL. You can do this.
PS - I know a lot of people who do something like keep their white chip in their pocket and have a habit of rubbing the edges or just knowing it's there. I keep my chips on the dresser and now in a little pouch - I've made a collage of my first year (my sponsor got me a special one in pink, since it's my fave color) with pics from that day. I love celebrating each mark! reminders are always good, of where we are and want to go.
