Weekender Thread 22-25 March 2019
Hi There
I'd like to welcome anyone new to SR and new to this thread.
Weekends can be a tough time -and that's what this thread is about - support.
We also share bits and pieces of our lives and the things that are important to us, or make us laugh..anything that makes the journey a little easier
If you've never jumped into a weekender thread before - no time like today...do it now!

So like everything, I asked Google
And it said...
“Riding shotgun was used to describe the guard who rode alongside a stagecoach driver, ready to use his shotgun to ward off bandits. In modern use, it refers to the practice of sitting alongside the driver in a moving vehicle”
Sorry for my ignorance... In the passenger seat...

Looking forward to a sober weekend, I'm happy to check-in with you all. I have some chores I need to attend to that I have let slip over the past week or two while things have been kind of crazy, but really what I'm looking forward to is a little extra rest time. Whatever you have on your roster for the next few days, may you enjoy it.
I’m in! Went to see an allotment yesterday and going to take it. Previous renters had covered the ground with black lining and it’s been like that for over a year so the soil just needs digging in and airing and I can plant my crops straight away!!! Can’t wait to get all green fingered and grow my own herbs and veg. xx
Marching through life, one day at a time.
In for a sober weekend. Even several years into this, I'm pretty amazed at how much easier life is without alcohol.
If you're reading and struggling with alcohol or other addictions - jump in, post, talk it out, make a change. Welcome.

Hey ya'llllllll. Man, this work week has really blown by. Still trying to figure out what I'm doing this weekend, but it'll be around 60-65 degrees here, so I'll no doubt find a good mountain to hike up.
I'm in!
Not much planned this weekend, but might be able to get out and do some serious walking. It's finally warming up enough here to walk for more than a few minutes. There's still some snow in the woods, so no trail hiking yet. Too squishy.
I have to get my son to the high school at 6:30 tomorrow morning, because he's taking a spring break trip to Disney World for a joint band/choir trip. He's in choir. Should be really fun for him, as his best friends are all also going. I'll have the house to myself for a week, so that will be... different. I'd better start getting used to it, because he will be off to college before I know it (fall 2020!). It makes me really sad, in some ways, but I'm super excited for him at the same time. I have had at least one kid in the house for almost 28 years. It's going to be a big adjustment. I'm grateful I'm sober, because life could really go off the rails if I'm left to my own devices and still drinking.
Anyway - have a great sober weekend, everyone!

Happy Friday to one and all.
Bimi love the dog gif. How are the eagles, have they left now?
Manta an allotment sounds great, especially one that has been covered for a year and not left to its own devices. Hope you have a potting shed for tea and cake!
No plans as usual, just me and my dogs at home with some nice walkies thrown in as well.

IN!
Good to see you Mr Moon!
Shotgun also meant control of the music when I was a long-haired youth.
Here's some from a time when a Remington meant a gun. At least I assume Black Uhuru were not campaigning against electric shavers

Evening folks.
Thanks D. I'm IN too.
Nice weekend ahead apparently.
Probably do some gardening too.
I enrolled in another 10km trot on Sunday.
For now it's time to chill out and cook the dindins...
Later weekenders.
