Focus wheel - name the issue or feeling
Meditating this morning, something that needed to be recognized and named came up.
The power of "name that" allows space to explore meanings and synonyms. My Al-Anon sponsor and home group taught me to allow awareness of these things, make use of dictionaries and take time sitting with individual words. Sometimes taking the Serenity Prayer and saying one word several times on each inhale/exhale through several breaths would start transforming how I felt and open my mind-heart connection in new ways.
Learning more recently about focus wheels, I draw a circle and outside the circle I put the negative topic. Inside the circle I write the opposite -- positive -- word that is healthy for me to focus on.
I'm enjoying practicing this.

My focus today, after creating a positive quote to answer the negative I had become aware of:
"There will be expected good surprises and a sense of gain."
In this exercise I honor and allow all my feelings, then get to practice shifting gears mentally.
I'm grateful for this space to voice these things. It's a huge part of these things becoming quick, easy changes.
