doing it alone

av had enough of AA or any other step program to do me a life time
i took a break from AA and come back yesterday to an AA meeting i was looked down on because of my mental health problems by a few people at the meetings told i wasn't working the program enough when i was talking to someone they where more interested in a sweet rather than what i was saying
no more had enough doing it alone never going back to AA again

I'm sorry you had a bad experience but maybe it was just a bad meeting, or some of the people had a bad day WolfsChild?

AA's been pretty helpful to you. Try not and make any rash decisions?

Aww, I'm sorry. I agree with Dee, maybe try a different meeting? Do you have the numbers of people you met before or have you moved?
I may not understand this correctly but if they are eating something are they not listening? AA will be telling you to work steps. That is the solution as it pertains to AA. I would anticipate conversation about the fundamentals. No real way around that. How we do.
Are you receiving outside help gfo your mental health? I hope so.
Keep posting please,
Jules

I'm sorry you had a bad experience at the meeting. Maybe if you take a bit of a break, you will feel like going back again at some point.

AA is more than just going to a meeting now and then. you had a couple encounters with people that you did not like - that has nothing to do with the program of AA. it's not a social club.

however, it is likely that AA is not a good fit.......for you. yet it seems over time you become dissatisfied with all your support systems.
