My first sober birthday in years!
I made it through my birthday, thanks to this site. I posted last week because I could already feel my AV talking me into the usual solitary heavy meal and vodka binge that was every birthday for the last I-don't-know-how-many years. You folks gave great suggestions and I filled the day with a light lunch with a friend, browsing a garden store, carving a rubber stamp, reading, starting a batch of seedlings and spending some time here. It was a quiet and sober birthday, and I feel like a load of guilt and self-disgust is lifting. I'm on my way to one month sober and a better life, thanks to all of you generous and wonderful people!
