Finally getting help but..

My dr has perscribed diazepam and i am to ween off alcohol at the same time.. Im worried as ive read mixing the 2 can be really bad. Anyone have experience?
iam tapering off 12% wine to beer. Iam at 9 beers already and off wine. Now for night for next couple nights iam at 9 beers than go down to 8 beers and so forth every 3 nights eventually to 1 beer.

Thanks for any input in mixing the 2 two until sober.

This is something that you should talk to your dr about. Does your dr know that you are drinking alcohol while taking diazepam?

So surprised your doctor told you to take diazepam when he knows you are drinking. It's so dangerous to take the 2 together. Usually it's given to help with withdrawls

Sorry yes I do have experience. I took 1 diazepam and 2 glasses of wine and was so ill. I would never take the 2 together or near each other

I understand we're not supposed to give medical advice here, but as a long time anxiety patient please make sure you tell your doctor exactly what you're drinking.

My best to you

Unfortunately, many, if not most, doctors don't understand that much about addiction. I would suggest you find one who specializes in that field.

No, you shouldn't drink while taking diazepam. If your doctor knows you're still drinking and prescribed it anyway, that's dangerous. Diazepam is usually prescribed to get thru withdrawals from alcohol. But not to take while still drinking.
