30 days today.

Have been reading alot of posts which has helped. Today is day number 30 of sobriety. I have had challenges such as family health and landlord selling the house I have lived in for seven years but not a drop. Those of you that don't know I have been taking antabuse daily and knowing what will happen to me if I take a single drink is a big deterrent for me. (watched the you tube videos) I am surprised that I have heard of no one else using this pill. Am I wrong in using it? Is looked down on as a crutch? Any way thanks for the support and this site.

Congratulations on thirty days!
I don't think Antabuse is a crutch, it's an aid to stop drinking. Just like I'm using an aid to stop smoking right now. If it is a crutch, so be it. We're not going to be using these things the rest of our lives just till we get our feet underneath us.
You earned the last thirty days.
There have been plenty of people here who have used it. I wouldn't hesitate to use it myself if I ever went back to drinking.

So be proud of yourself. You deserve it. And think ahead to how you're going to handle things once you stop using it.
AA? Or some other program of sobriety? That's what I would be concerned with. The long term.
Best to you, and keep it up.

Congrats on a month sober! Antabuse is a tool to use to beat the addiction.

Congrats Sampson

No med is suitable for everyone, but using prescribed antabuse is common.
Glad it's working for you.
