Ugh. I drank

I'm not hiding this time. Usually I'm too ashamed to tell on myself. It wasn't much. A couple of beers. I'm starting again tomorrow
I'm sorry. Please don't give up on me. Love you guys.

The sun will rise again tomorrow.

AA has phone numbers available. Maybe call and make a plan to be at a meeting with someone else?

Don’t give up on yourself. I did the same last Friday, and although just a couple I noticed my behaviour change, my thoughts started to get darker, and I felt terrible the next day. I’ve started again, and told my friends and my partner I cannot go to the pub until I’m much stronger. Learn what triggered it, and put in place strategies to manage the cravings and temptations for next time. You can do it. Don’t give up!!

We've all been there. I guess I finally stopped when I really really wanted to. Life just became unmanageable. No one will give up on you! We all understand and you're still here!

Press,

I can relate. I crave almost every day. I don't attend meetings, I just know from experience when the crave is happening and that it always goes away pretty quick.

Afterwards, I am back to feeling glad i don't drink.

I suffer through when it is bad.

There is a nasty flu bug going around. I can feel my body fighting it. My immune system is,like a furnace these days.

Drinking will ruin that. Same thing with sleeping. My non drinking friends say they routinely sleep 7 plus hours straight a night. I am up to 4 to 5.

I can't wait to get where they are.

Goals are important to me to help maintain my non drinking ways.

Thanks.

You still crave now? Am I right I'm thinking you have been sober since 2015?

Doris,

Yep.

If someone has been sober as long as me and doesn't crave a bit, good for them.

Just being honest.

Thanks.

Most importantly, don't give up on yourself Pressme. You are the most important piece of the puzzle when it comes to staying sober.

Rather than asking for forgiveness, ask yourself what you did ( or didn't ) do that led up to your drinking. And then change your routine/plan so that doesn't happen again. Were you actively working on your sobriety?

Press - I had a couple of false starts, but I finally got free. You will too. There's nothing in it for us anymore - no fun, relaxation, escape from reality. We pay too high a price for a momentary bit of numbness. You can do it!

Look at the positives you only had a couple and did not get completely pissed. Your behaviour changed but not severely so. You got away with it this time get back on the wagon👍🏻
