they're not gone.
In desktop view the chat room portal is at the right hand bottom of the page -you should see pink and blue speech bubbles... if all you can see is a grey arrow, click that arrow.
Not sure about the format for mobile view but others will chime in for sure.

no worries
just checked out mobile view
if you're in mobile view there should be a standard menu logo (three horizontal lines) at the top left hand side of the page
clicking on that will give you 'chat' as one of the options in the drop down menu
