Day 18
Day 18. Early in sobriety, I tend to get this feeling like "why on EARTH did I ever think drinking was worth it?" I feel like completely baffled, like I've just lost part of my mind for years at a time.
Anyway. Right now, I feel really excited about the prospect of life. There's so much to look forward to. A birthday I'll actually remember. A sober vacation full of memories. Tons of sober nights out with friends. Moving, going back to school, starting a career. Going to weddings. I mean there is SO much to look forward to right now and the best part is I get to be 100% present for all the variety and experience of life.
But I know all too well this can be a temporary feeling....and it can go as quickly as it came. So yeah. I have to be really aware of my triggers this time and what could lead to a relapse

18 days sober is a great start. Do you have a plan in place to avoid relapse? A good plan is your go-to when your defenses are down.
I'm glad things are going well for you. Living sober really rocks, doesn't it?

Congrats. I don't think there's anything wrong with celebrating your sobriety and looking forward to what life really might offer. Sounds like you are being sensible and not assuming it will all be roses - suffering is a guarantee. Congrats and keep it moving!
