Day 2
Bought some nice food plus ice cream sweets chocolate and ginger beer. Going to eat what I want to get through the first week.
Had no craving to drink or buy alcohol in the shop. I got no enjoyment from drinking alcohol and my body can’t cope with it. I linked the alcohol with the severe heartburn indigestion I have been suffering with for several years!
i have found the thread about PAWS and the link to an article about it very useful. I now recognise that my brain is damaged and that it will take time to re over and that total abstinence is required for 3-6 months for this to happen. I accept while trying to heal itself I will experience difficulties associated with PAWS but knowing this is to be expected is better than e periencing it without knowing what is happening.
Thank you all for your support.

Good work. It's nice to see you here posting sober rather than coming off another brutal one man. If you need any support or guidance, check in here and let us know. Pulling for you. There's a better life.
Eating well and educating yourself about PAWs is a good start but, on its own, it's unlikely to keep you sober HC,

I went on a candy binge myself the first week. I usually don't like sweet things but sugar does help somewhat with alcohol cravings since booze is full of it. I was eating licorice and Starburst candy. Got me through the worst of detoxing!
