Day 7

Woke up feeling fresh finally to start day 7, it is a lovely feeling to enjoy a weekend hangover free !! Yesterday though ended up stressful and upsetting as heard from my brother who has fell out with his girlfriend and been drinkly heavily (yes alcoholism cleary runs in our family) im very worried about him, he has been hospitalised with pancreatitis in past. I want to help him but without jepodising my own sobriety. In one way its a massive reminder how disgusting alcohol is im just worried about coping with the stress.

Congrats on your week tb. I'm sorry about your brother but I agree you're best to focus on yourself & your recovery for now

The only way to make an addict want to recover is to make them want what you have. No amount of preaching or concern will do it and is more likely to make them go the opposite way. Be the best version of you that you can be, focus 100% on your own recovery and hopefully he will want some of what you have, that is all you can do xx

Great job on 7 days - and like others said, please take care of YOU now, and that will be the way you can help your brother and anyone else.

Yay!!! Congrats on 7 days!!👏👏🎉🎉. You have to save yourself before you can save someone else, it’s true. Took me a loooong time to see things that way, but focus on staying sober and healing. Be there for your brother and support him, but make your own sobriety your number one focus! Well done you on 7 days!!
