Start a blog
I had a pretty comprehensive blog that detailed my addiction, recovery and mental health. I used WordPress to host it. I kept it up for about six months but then realised I was starting to tailor the content to what I thought the readers wanted rather than it being a daily diary etc.
I got rid of it and now have a typed daily diary on my laptop. I personally find it more effective. It's private and generally the entries are a bit longer than blog posts were. And if I ever decide to start a blog in the future I can copy and paste the content over.

I do a daily journal and it’s really helpful. I was going to do an online blog in the early days as I was on my way to rehab but someone said to be careful that I didn’t become and observer of my recovery rather than a participant and it struck a chord with me at the time. I think as Natom mentioned there can be a temptation to start writing for your readers rather than for yourself. There is stuff in my journal I would never share with anyone else but I had to write it out for me so I could deal with it and at 8 months sober I continue to do a private journal daily.
Congrats on your sober time so far and keep up the good work! x
