200 Days

I never thought I’d last 200 days. Back on day 1 I was hoping that I could “dry out”a little bit and then get my drinking under control. When I found this site, I realized that that would probably not be possible and so I held out and I find myself at this milestone. I have learned a lot about myself and my relationship with alcohol, and I Have learned a lot here in these forums about how to stay sober. I may have failed without the help

My life is vastly different today, and I am different too. I have better relationships, I’m doing well in my career, and I experience life fully aware and with tuned in senses. I have lost 50 lbs and I feel like my younger self (wish I looked younger LOL).

I have no doubt that I am still early into sobriety and I am not fooled by a modicum of success and that’s what brings me to read posts everyday. It keeps me grounded, vigilant, and resolute and I know that I’min good company

I do feel like a different person! It’s funny....people at work comment on my appearance and say what a great job I did with my weight loss and they say that I look good. What they dont know is that sobriety happened first (probably had to) and they have no clue how much more of an achievement that is for me! I don’t think I would have had the energy and presence of mind to loose weight if I weren’t sober.

Love this, bonnie!! Thank you for sharing the process and progress you have had. The "100s" are great - I still think of right at 100 as a big step forward for me. It keeps getting better- more clear, more real, more better keep going.

Congratulations on 200 days! It’s amazing how much we change physically and emotionally once we quit drinking - so much so that friends, family, and colleagues comment!! You are so right that they don’t fully realize what went into that drastic physical change. Congrats to you and keep it up!!
