Day 1
I joined this forum in 2014. I was thinking it was a couple of years ago but I checked and my first posts were in April 2014. I haven't had any alcohol in over 24 hours. I finally am ready to start this journey.
Great to see you, HeadEast. It sounds like you're ready for a new & better way of life. I'm glad you've come back for the support and encouragement we can offer you. Be proud of yourself for making this decision. We are with you.
Welcome back.
I lived in Denver for twenty four years and went to meetings at York street. Head East is a great band!
Congratulations on your decision to stop drinking.
As you may know you'll find a lot of support here.
It took me years of trying to quit, so please don't put yourself through the misery I did.
I got sober in Denver, so please make it two of us.
It took a lot of meetings and failures along the way, but I've now been sober for ten years. And I was a very heavy drinker. I drank alcoholily for thirty years.
Oh man, could I tell you stories about my drunken antics and bars in Denver.
Bartenders started looking me with pity when I came through the door.
I became ashamed of my drinking. But still couldn't stop.
I wouldn't wish my final years on anyone. A living nightmare.
Best to you on day one. Just take it one day at a time. They add up.
I hope you become willing to do whatever it takes because that's what it took me.
We've got something in common. Lets make sobriety another one, okay?
I'm rooting for you. You can do this.
Best to you.

This is a wonderful site to help you get sober. I joined in 2012, and my last drink was December 31, 2015. SR helped me get three years of sobriety. It took me a little while after joining as well. Read and post here daily, it really helps.
You can do this!!!

Thanks
I'm hanging in there. Sleep is elusive, but last night I did manage to sleep. What's scary is that is the first time I've slept on my own without alcohol or most ofter a combination of alcohol/Ambien/Xanax.

Welcome back, I’m Day 2/3 and back as well. Something that helped my health, a nd I am NOT a doctor, was pedilyte with electrolytes and probiotics.. water wasn’t cutting it. Let’s just say the first 25 days of 2019 were a rough time and the rest of 2019 will be great because they will be full of sober progress and opportunities. Rest, eat well, hydrate, hygiene and look for a support system.
