Has this site been updated?

Has the site been updated ? It appears differently on my tablet from what it was yesterday. Not sure if I've clicked an option without knowing that changes it to mobile mode or something, or whether the site has been changed?

The mobile site wasn’t loading in noble devices for me for awhile but is again today. There’s an option somewhere at the bottom of the page to use the desktop version.

Yep, same problem. I can't get it to switch to the desktop version properly it switches to show me the main page in desktop version, but when I tap to enter an area like newcomers it's reverting to the mobile view.

I'm using incognito mode on my mobile, not sure if that's affecting it.

I tried, switching too. It just swaps back to this mode when I click a link. Not too fussed but I do prefer desktop mode

Lonewolf, looks like our excellent tech fixed the problem.

I don't know of any updates but we're not routinely informed of minor updates.

I can only speak for Iphone, but If you want desktop mode you can refresh the page in Safari or whatever browser and that should give you the option for desktop mode.

If you want mobile mode, if you scroll right down to the left hand bottom of the page, you can change the style to mobile there.

if anyone has Android tips, this thread might be a good place to post 'em

I use my Android phone to access the forums. Normally, I use the desktop version on my phone because that is what I am used to. Today, the mobile version popped up and using the button at the bottom to switch to desktop has no effect. The mobile version pops up again when entering a forum.

This happened a couple months ago as well. Took a few weeks to fix.

Hold down the refresh “button” in safari on iOS/iPhone and a pop-up to request desktop version should appear. Not sure about android.

My relationship with the site has gone kablewey also. Although with different symptoms and it's aggravating to say the least. I'm blaming it on Internet Explorer, because I often have malfunctions after an update, until someone one at Microsoft debugs the latest update.

But it could be this site too where some programmer has caused an incompatibility with IE. My solution is to access the site through firefox, which I am using just for SR, and am experiencing zero problems since I started this.

Welcome to the digital age, where your life is now in the hands of a few sadistic programmers on personal power trips who exist for no other purpose but to make you crazy.

With the number of people now accessing the net with their smart phones, corporate board rooms have decided it's cheaper not to create new browsers designed specifically for phones. Just tweak the stuff they already have and make it kind of work for phones. As a result, the old interfaces don't work as well for their original purpose, and phone users get to use something that was never designed for phones in the first place.

Yeah it's annoying for both computer people and phone people, but think of all the money the providers are going to make.

Lol! Life changes. Period. With technology and advanced information sharing, thinking outside the box and unlimited new capabilities things sometimes can be shook up a bit as life often is.

I adapt. I grab hold of a 12 step principle. I meditate and go on with my day, in a new way. When I haven't been able to access the sire in one way, I'm extremely grateful it's here, trust change is okay and go on with my day. One day at a time.

I've also looked back and been extremely grateful for small things that take my attention, like the site version here, my car trunk not opening, etc. when there's been bigger stuff I can't do anything about.
