2 weeks sober
Hello everyone, I guess I haven't posted here in a couple years. Most of that time was spent binge drinking every 3 or 4 days or so. Well, I have finally made it two weeks without smoking or drinking, which is a rarity for me. I was having some temptation so I came here to read a bit, and want to thank you all for the inspiration to keep going.
I guess that's about it for now... Thanks again. Oh, there was no reason in particular for the temptation to drink, just some minor things got on on my nerves, and I was looking for an excuse. I am fine now though.

Congratulations on two weeks.
Very smart of you to come here when you felt that temptation. And remember, that's all it is, temptation. An urge we don't have to choose to act poorly for.
I looked for excuses, too. At the end it was sunrise. Or rain. I didn't need much of an excuse.
We're all still here to help. Glad you're back.

I am glad you feel fine now, Tristan. I do hope you have a long term plan to stay sober? I made it to a year and a half, then came back here because I was feeling lonely and some pretty strong urges. SR was so helpful to me and I did not relapse. I continued to go through these phases being triggered for a few months but every time, I came to SR and it really helped me stay strong while I waited for the urge to pass. Feeling much better the last month or so but I will never let myself get complacent again. Sobriety has to be a daily workout for me.
