Blurry vision?

Wondering if anyone has experienced a slight blur in vision when going through early withdrawal?

I’m not too concerned. In fact I’m 45 and my vision has taken a nose dive in the last six years, so I’m just wondering if it’s the withdrawal or if my vision is still on the decline lol

Sight is a precious gift. Not sure if vision is
affected by withdrawals tho, but to put your
mind at easy and free of worry, getting your
eyes checked would be a good suggestion I'd
pass on to you.

Also, make sure you stay hydrated by drinking
lots of water to keep yourself and everything inside
you from dehydrating.

All our veins, muscles, organs need lots of
water to survive. Even your eyes.

Look for veggies loaded with vitamins
and minerals to also promote good health.

It could be that after detox your vision will improve some. I found though that there were issues that I though were "cropping up", that in reality I just did not notice until I was sober.

I suffered blurry funky vision in the first few months. It has since cleared and my vision is fine. Definitely keep hydrated and get good rest. For peace of mind though you should have yours eyes checked.

Thanks all. I had them checked 3 years ago when they were getting really bad. The doc just chuckled and said I was getting to be that age. In fact he said my eyesight wasn't all that bad compared to most.

Say what? I can't see squat anymore!

Anyhow, it could also have to do with the crummy sleep that accompanies detox. I'm sure it will iron itself out, as much as possible. I think I'll go and get a checkup just to make sure I don't need a freakin walking stick any time soon :|

And what did he do about it for you?

I have my eye-health and vision checked every two years, all sorts of issues can be detected.
I've also had a check in between times if an eye problem arose.

Your vision is precious, protect it

Not a bad idea at all to get a checkup. It's possible to attribute just about anything to withdrawal over the internet - so getting checked out by an actual doctor can be a good thing.

While you're at that - have you given any thought to what you might do differently as far as staying sober is concerned? That's likely the most important thing long term.

I did, and I also had difficulty with spatial relation. It made me really nervous about driving in particular. It abated and the blurry thing is now just the kind of thing I sometimes need my nearsighted 42 yr old's glasses to overcome

I'm 48 and yes I experienced Strained and blurry vision during first several weeks of getting sober. I do have some normal decline in vision due to age but much better now after 3 months.
Hydration and good nutrition is important for our eye health. you could get an eye exam if you are worried about it.

Yeah. It’s totally “normal” for me.

I'd get a checkup - it may be nothing but once your vision goes it doesn't come back - most problems can be corrected if caught early enough.

Every time I stopped a binge I'd get hit with blurry vision for at least a few days. It would eventually fade away but yeah, pretty normal for me at least, and sadly predictable.
Not anymore since I am a sober human being.

Jip. Also had blurry vision early on. It has stopped now, thankfully.

Just a thought that I should have had earlier- serious things like diabetes can sometimes be caught early w eye exams. I forget why that connection exists but I know my mom and others have been alerted to the condition that way.
