Book - This Naked Mind
Book - This Naked Mind
This Naked Mind by Annie Grace
I can't recommend this book enough. It spends considerable time explaining how alcohol is bad for us. Why we drink it... why we shouldn't. The author has been there and really understands the struggles we go through. The book somehow seems to affect the subconscious mind so that by the time you finish the book, you simply won't want to drink ever again. I found it's affect almost magical. Although I've been sober for a while now, this book has reinforced my determination to never drink again. My AV doesn't have a chance.
If you are just starting out, or if you've been sober for a while, you owe it to your future to get this book and read all of it. It WILL help. Really.

I haven't read it yet, but I was just introduced to her program "The Alcohol Experiment" ~ a 30 day alcohol free challenge where you log in each day and read/watch educational information about how harmful it is to us. Thanks for sharing!
This book was pivotal for my early sobriety. I don't think it's a magic bullet, but I was in the absolute right frame of mind when I did read it, and it struck a major chord.
I also cannot recommend this book enough for those in early sobriety (or even if you're not yet sober).

Wow! Goose333, thanks for the recommendation! I've just listened to a couple of her podcasts and I am so glad I did. I didn't start listening in any particular order at first & then decided to start at the beginning.
I'm almost at my 20 month sober anniversary. I really struggled this holiday season, more so than my first sober holidays for some reason. Thank goodness for SR & all of the helpful posts. Still reading everyday. Here's to a happy & sober 2019. P

Btw, I love your signature quote! That was on my wall during training for marathons. I love the application of it in sobriety and all things difficult in life.
Wonderful book to use as one of your tools. I found it very helpful. Started reading it on day 2 , and now have 4 mnths plus. I agree that it sticks in the back of your mind and changes your whole opinion of alcohol. Worked for me. Highly recommend reading it.
