Already feeling the urge to drink tomorrow
I binge drink. I haven't touched alcohol in a week, but now, on the eve of New Years Eve, my brain is trying to convince me that I will have a couple tomorrow night and I'll be fine ... except, I won't really. I'll end up having umpteen drinks and feeling like hell on the first day of 2019 ... and I really don't want that. Hoping I'll pull through for tomorrow night!
Arm yourself with support in recovery by
staying connected to SR or having someone
to hang out with all day so you both can
support each other during this time in
early recovery.
Put recovery at the top of your list
and hold tight to your recovery lifelines
no matter what.
We're here for you with ESH....
Experience, strength and hope to pass
on to you.

You deserve the best life available. That is a sober life without alcohol. Alcohol is a dead end. It is not a reward or a privelage or fun. Be the best you ever for 2019 and drop that habit for good. You will save a ton of money, probably lose weight, lose the guilt, shame and hangovers. good luck.

Hi GrayJ,
I'm in my 21st month of sobriety, 2018 will be my first full calendar year in recovery. At the beginning of the year I had written a list of my physical, mental, financial, and spiritual goals and I'm proud to say that I've accomplished all of them. This isn't meant to be braggadocious or arrogant, I consider 2018 as the year I built a solid and stable foundation of recovery. Now I'm in the process of identifying the goals I wish to accomplish in 2019.
Perhaps it would help to do the same. Maybe write down what you would like to achieve in 2019 and then ask yourself if drinking will get you closer to those goals.
