You're invited! look through this lens...
Five years ago I walked through the doors, sat down at the tables, brought home a book, stepped into willingness, envisioned a future, made a decision - and kept on doing it.
It was hard at first.
It took work, commitment, re-commitment.
It took meetings, service, therapy, leaving parties and social situations behind for a time, making changes, changing people, changing mindset, meditation, exercise, reading, journaling, finding new community.
It became easier. Life became better. Joy became more present. Gratitude more consistent.
Life expanded.
My mind expanded.
My emotions grew.
My presence deepened.
I got remarried, became a Daddy again, bought and sold homes, renovated homes, gave in service to others, volunteered, carried the message, healed myself, supported others in healing, deepened my life in many new ways. Grew to love myself.
Five years on and it does continue not only to be the best decision I ever made, but one that rewards me, those around me and the world daily.
Five years of sobriety today.
Thank you all for the love and support you gave me in helping me get to this day.
And to all of you who still struggle.... persevere.... you can do it.
And it will be so, so, so incredibly worth it.
