Must Stop

I had been sober for more than 3 years but started again 18 months ago. I have never been to this site and am looking forward to checking it out.

I've had many triggers over the past year, though I know that's no excuse.

I despise myself right now. No one knows that I'm drinking again, but I know it. I feel as though I'm betraying everyone in my life.

It's time for me to start over.

Hello and welcome.
If you feel it's time to stop, then stop.
You had three years. You know what it's like to live sober.
And now you know how insidious it is to live drinking.
Hiding it. Dealing with the guilt, anxiety and remorse. Feeling like you're living a lie and I even hated myself.

You can stop. Just don't pick up that first drink.
How did you get sober before? Have you tried AA, or another program of recovery?
We've got our own little spot here where people are in all stages of still drinking and trying to stop and those who are achieving sobriety.
So stick with us. We're here to help.

I've been where you are. And the light at the end of the tunnel seemed like a train.
But it wasn't. It was sobriety.
I drank alcoholicly for thirty years. I will soon have ten years sober. If I don't pick up that first drink.

I know where you're coming from. I drank anyway possible, and the only person I was fooling was myself.
I hated that person.

I hope you get back on the wagon. I fell off and it ran me over many times.
Please don't go through the hell I did. Save yourself some misery and stop now.
Whatever it takes.

You've made the first step by coming here. Now it's time for action.
It didn't happen overnight for me, but it happened and it took work and help.
I found it here and I hope you do, too.

Nancy,

Welcome. You will be a serious informational asset to this site.

Hope you stick around and tell us all about how you stayed sober for 3 years and why, what, how, and when you drank for the last 18 months. Finally, why and how are you going to quit and stay quit again.

Bottom line for me, 3 years clean is a long time. Your mind and body thank you.

Thanks.
