Weekender 14-17 December 2018

Hi There!
I'd like to welcome anyone new to SR and new to this thread.

Weekends can be a tough time - especially holiday weekends -and that's what this thread is about - support.

We also share bits and pieces of our lives and the things that are important to us, or make us laugh..anything that makes the journey a little easier

If you've never jumped into a weekender thread before - no time like today...do it now!

If my job is to eat a frog, I'm looking for a different job. Gimme one of those pizza-eating jobs, one that pays a lot!

IN!

Welcome to Weekenders Citrus!

Congratulations on shotgun MidnightBlue.

For lots of us we are coming up to the toughest time of the year to stay sober. It is really easy to be blindsided by invitations to go drinking with work colleagues or friends. The good news is that January is a doddle compared to now and we will have saved a wedge of cash too.

I've noticed, just let it slide)

I had a tough session with my therapist today. She got me irritated and angry. Which is good, I rarely have open confrontation in real life. And seen I've been her client for many years by now neither of us is afraid to damage relationships beyond repair. She can give me sort of tough love, I can disagree in not very nice manner. Just real life.

The confrontation opened the entire pandora box to work me through.

By the end of the session I was smiling again, so all good.

See you.

I'll never forget my first sober christmas, We host the x-mas eve 12 meatless dishes dinner for the family. I baned alchohol and my sister-in-law freaked. I did compromise and allowed her to bring her own.

Yes Vman, I was visiting Dr. Google. I normally aviod it and I even groan when Mrs. Dragon starts quoting Dr. Google. I must admit, some of what I read was confusing and contraditory.

When I start Dr. Googling I am like that character from Jerome K. Jerome book who consulted medical reference book and diagnosed himself with every disease described in the book except for post partum fever

Good morning and thanks for the welcome.
Sao I am looking forward to January being a doodle!

I have the job of shuttling teens too and from homecoming this evening, last pick up at 11. So definitely no drinking for me. Plus 2 of my kids have a 5k super early in the morning. I so wouldn't want to be hungover for that.
Good healthy excuses not to drink really help me.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

I just listened to the Xavier Rudd song. I love it! I'll have to listen to some more. Might make nice music for me to listen to on the beach in Belize in January.
