Sober but tired....

Just over 3 weeks sober since my detox (longest in a long time) but I’m so damn tired!!!

Doing AA, relapse prevention course, personal counselling, working 3 days a week and running around after a 9 & 10 year old with all the Christmas activities that come with it!

just venting, am sober but tired....

On the glass-half-full side, I'd say sober and tired is still a lot better than drunk and well-rested!

I started to feel more energetic at around the 3-week point. I hope that you will feel better soon, too. Congratulations on 3 weeks of sobriety.

Naps are your friend! Assuming your kids are in school, you should definitely have time for those. And don't worry, it totally gets better.

Tired and sober is a step on the road... All that sugar you were relying on when you were drinking every day kept you going and now you aren't putting it into your body it will take time for you to adjust.... You are doing amazingly well and are an inspiration.....xx

I stopped fully for around a month a few years ago and it felt like all I did was sleep.
the brain isn't sure what to make of no alcohol and when it comes around it's like "oh jeez, I have a twenty year sleep defecit, better get started"

I’m feeling better thanks, I’d given up caffeine at the same time as wine so no wonder my body just wants sleep after 18 months of black outs...

Got my appetite back and just bought some £8 olive oil, pumpkin bread and dukkha as a treat for tonight! Will enjoy with a tomato juice, watch Home Alone with the kids and go to bed sober!

Stay well folks xxx
