I love the counting too. Someone mentioned once that they had an app on their phone that could count their sober hours if they so chose. Whoever designed that app understands me! Hitting that first double digit, then triple digit, there's a positive power there...
Congrats on your sober time!

I did too. It's a good thing to do too, but I lost count years ago, and now when I want to know how many years and days I've got, I've got to get out paper and pencil and get all mathematical about it. I have to first remember that I got sober two years after my divorce, and I got divorced 4 years before I was 54, then I have to call my ex and ask what the date of our divorce was (women keep track of that kind of thing). Then I add 54 to my birthday to figure out what year that was... and subtract 2 years and then... What? I'm starting to get mixed up.
Confused yet? I am. I feel like I should call an accountant and pay him to figure it out for me.
But early on, those days and weeks and months are important. They mark successes, and early on in recovery, you need to have successes. You deserve them after so many failures. I encourage all those new to recovery to count away to their heart's content. It's fun and it's healthy.
And congratulations, too.

I love the counting too! That's half the fun of sobriety haha, no make that 65%. I'm at 677 days now btw. You know there's a thread on SR where we do nothing but count and congratulate each other every day, it's in the Alcoholism section. Come and join us there, vick! https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...r-pt-17-a.html (Occasionally I (we) just like to count our days sober - Pt 17)
