2018
Hi! I joined here early this year. My sobriety started on 1/9/2018 until middle of March 2018. Since then my life was controlled by serious drinking binges. I tried to stop many times but it had a fierce grip on me. It was destructive and all these months are now a blur. Something in me finally found courage and determination to stop this madness as was tired of darkness, shame and bullshitting myself. I found it on 11/25. I intend to finish this year sober and proud of myself for not giving up. I may have lost battles but not the war. I want and WILL see 1/9/2019 sober with many weeks under my belt.
Welcome back, Gem. Your trajectory is similar to mine. I made a good effort in the beginning of the year and then went in and out of binges all throughout spring and summer up until October 10th.
This place is full of great resources and plans. You can do it if you are determined!

Welcome back!
I also joined early this year and following joining, had a handful of severe binges before I decided that I'd absolutely had enough of this horrible cycle. I decided to give up for good in July and regret nothing. It's definitely not easy, but it's a LOT easier than constantly testing myself to see if I can moderate my drinking all the time and not just on occasion (news flash. I can't!)
