All I want for Christmas is to be sober x
hey all
This will be my first Christmas sober in I don't know how many years....
I'm coming up to one year no booze on the 27th of December
AND it's honestly been the best year of my life
Anyone else joining me on there first sober Christmas???
If so I wish you the happiest Christmas ever !!!!
Its been a long journey for me ...
But the best decision I've ever made in my life ..
merry Christmas all

And I’m just behind you Helianthus, on 208 days sober. I stopped drinking on May 14 and joined the class of May ‘18
SR has been my lifeline. You are all amazing
How are you finding things?
Nice to meet you too Helianthus and everyone else here
I’m finding it great to be sober (no hangovers is awesome) but it’s a bit of a roller coaster ride. I feel much healthier that’s for sure, which is great but I do have mood swings. Thankfully the cravings for alcohol are not as persistent as they were in the early weeks. They definitely still come, but they don’t last as long. The first few weeks were really tough but it’s getting easier
I think Christmas is going to be a challenge, with lots of people drinking around me, so my plan is to stay close to SR and have plenty of nonalcoholic drinks available

Hi cara!

I’m in Willow’s class for May 2018. Begin my journey and Mae but slipped up so I’m a little bit behind at 193😍
Thanks to everyone here at SR, this will be my first sober Christmas in about 40 years .

I'm fortunate that I live in a practically sober household apart from my husbands sister who is of great concern, 2nd DUI, drinking whisky with her cranberry juice at breakfast because she has a "cold", will only admit she has a problem when she's drunk etc. She's just about to start a 12 week course to get her licence back during which she will be tested for alcohol each time she attends so that will be interesting. But anyway I'm getting off topic not much alcohol will be around so hopefully Christmas won't put too much temptation in my way.
Definitely stay close to SR and maybe get an non-alcoholic drink you wouldn't normally have so it's a bit of a treat? This will sound weird but I really like the Gingerade Kombucha once in a while or Canada Dry are making a Cranberry & Ginger Ale drink here at the moment which is really nice.
Best of luck to us!
Thanks for this positive thread. It is heartwarming to see how many people are so grateful to be sober and looking forward to a sober Christmas.
It will be my first sober Christmas in .... geez... forever? And I am so, so looking forward to it. I will be sober 4 months come Christmas .(106 days now) This will be my gift to myself and my family - a sober Mom and wife and a sober me. Jaaaay !!!!

I too will be sober for Christmas for the first time in MANY years. I'm currently on day 131, have just finished illustrating this year's Christmas card and have emailed it off for print. I'm definitely looking forward to a sober Christmas!
