Day 7 good feeling but not great
Today's question to all of you if you don't mind .
Old ' great feeling ' after a few bottles of cold beer and a hot dog . ..
How to replace cold beer , please ? Ok, I can take cold cola can't I ? But it does not work for heavy drinker like me . Any prompts , please ?

No sure what you mean by doesn't work for heavy drinkers like you, Vick?
You'll get used to having no buzz vick - but it may annoy you for a little while.
In terms of things going well taste wise with hot dogs coca cola or some other kind of soft drink is as good as anything I guess
You could try ginger beer - just make sure it's not the alcoholic kind

I spent the first ten days of sobriety in an in-patient treatment facility. They emphasized the importance of nutrition and recommended eating smaller portions more often throughout the day.
I've been sober for five months, now, and I find that good food helps keep the cravings at bay, and ice cream in the evenings is satisfying for me.
I was really sick and miserable there at the end before getting sober so it's pretty easy for me to "play the tape forward" and envision the ruinous outcome if I pick up that first drink. So that, along with a lot of other tools, is more important than any kind of a substitute that I eat or drink.
But good nutrition and enjoyable food has indeed been very helpful along with a healthy sleeping routine. Tired and hungry is undeniably bad for sobriety.
