Hi All, It's Been a While
Hello!
I have been off of SR for quite a while. But today, as I prepare to chair my home group for my 6 month anniversary, I came here to remind myself of my first attempts at getting sober.
I know it was in 2011 and I haven't looked for those first few posts yet, but I really wanted to say that I owe a great deal to SR. I couldn't get it totally together online, but I learned a lot that helped me when I finally got into the rooms.
I now have very close to six months and I attend between six and ten meetings a week. I have developed a fellowship and I have a sponsor who has a sponsor and I am working the steps.
So that's where I am at. I know there are many paths to sobriety, but this is what has worked for me.
My life is unrecognizable. There is still a lot of work to be done and there is some water irretrievably under the bridge, but the things I do every day that I couldn't do before are a miracle. The reduction of stress, increase of energy, increase of reliability, and on and on.
My skin is nice, my eyes are clear, and my nails are good. I'm caught up on my work. I am doing the things I love.
Dang Gina. It's a freakin' miracle.
Thanks so much Dee, Anna, VenusCat, and so many others...Optival, on and on, and on. I hope you are well and here.
Now I will do my research for my lead! (I've led a couple of my other meetings but my home group has a six month rule. I signed up once but didn't make it. I'm making it this time! Thank God, Thank SR, Thank AA.
