Hi Friends, I drank today after 3 days and multiple attempts at moderation......AV lingers like "Why bother,,,,You'll always drink at one point or another"
Stay close, this place is awesome! Love this Family

My AV said that to me too - eventually I realised the AV is a liar, Purps. - not just sometimes, all the time.
We can start Chapter 2 anytime we like. Change is possible - for everyone
It'll take effort but it's worth it

with all the attempts people have made at moderation with an absolute 0% success rate, can we finally just call it what it is? It's purely just tapping the brakes on the inevitable. Once taken off the table, there are only 2 options...
To drink or not to drink, that is the question.
Personally, I would LOVE to moderate, but I CANNOT drink. Now my choices are simplified and I/AV cannot rationalize the obscure.
I'm glad you are back. Wish you well.

Purp,
The av is a chemical imbalance in my brain.
Brain damage from booze. It is there for life and all drinkers have it.
They crave. Last night we went out for bingo. My wife had 2 margaritas. She could not resist. She is addicted at a low level.
Her friend had half of my wife's margarita and said she felt warm in her head. That equals buzzed to me. She will crave that buzz.
The crave results from a chemical alteration and corresponding dopamine reduction. Insideous.
I had a coffee and a diet coke. They were awesome.
Booze alters my brain and body for a lot longer than most, people think.
I don't want to be altered. I want to xperience my life 100% present. Beingmpure gives me confidence like never before. I am facing challenges I avoided in the past.
It is awesome.
Thanks.

Hi Purp. I’m glad you’re here. Maybe it’s time to up your support system. Do you attend meetings in real life? You can do this but you’ve got to take drinking completely off the table and remember getting sober isn’t easy. You have to really want it. 💕
I've seen you manage to be alcohol free for months. Months where you care about you. Where you go to drum lessons and the gym and AA meetings.
Maybe it's time you made you your main priority. Be the best you you can. Go to the meetings and find a sponsor. Hold your nose and jump in the deep end instead of just wading around in the shallow. It's scary until you realize you really can swim.
I love you, Purps. You really are worth it.
