I Finished My School!
I Finished My School!
I finally completed my real estate course! I've got to schedule my test and then take a 30 hr. course for new associates, but after that, I will be a bonafide realtor. My daughter said she was proud of me. I have to admit, I'm pretty proud of myself. This was a big box to check off.
Thanks, ya'll! I had my daughter while I was in college, so I withdrew to be a FT mom when she was a baby. Then, when I divorced my ex and was going back to college (made the Dean's List!) my mother had a heart attack and was vegetative, so I withdrew to grieve and to help take care of her.
I previously worked in property management where I was in charge of about 500 commercial properties nationwide. That was one of my favorite jobs. Since I married my husband (who works in real estate), I've basically been his right hand person. I do all the marketing, contracts, picture taking, listing updates, etc. Without a license, though, you can't field calls where you give prices or show properties. I really needed to get this done and it feels really good. When I get my license it will be my first certificate of education past high school....and if anything were to happen to my husband (God forbid), then I'd need to be able to put food on the table. After the seizure incident and THEN the ICU incident, it was imperative that I hurry up and get it done!!!!
I plan on just continuing my education in this field and to rack up as many certificates I can. I know I'm setting a good example for my daughter, too, so that just helps to motivate me. Again, thanks for the support!

I'd have to say commercial, Mango! I have more experience in it and the money tends to be better, unless you specialize in high-end homes (which I have no experience in). I really think I'd like to have my own property management company in the future though.

Congrats! I've been toying with the idea of getting mine. I'm in the residential side for investing/rehabs and lease my commercial spaces, currently. I can 100% see why commercial would the better of the 2 for sales/leasing from a profit/less stress standpoint though.
