Nervous New Member
Hi, I am not only new, I am not sure if this is the appropriate forum. I am looking for a support group to join that provides wisdom and guidance through a breakup with someone I love.
He is an alcoholic and uses marijuana in various forms.

Hi Blanch,
Welcome to SR.
Al-anon is a wonderful resource also. I've found it very beneficial to have in-person and online places for healing and growth.

Btw - posting the first time takes guts! Kudos on being here. Keep posting, look around, get comfy & also get out of your comfort zone regularly. Take what you like and leave the rest.
A good friend told me several years ago, after a meeting,
"All the joy & happiness you'll ever want are right outside your comfort zone."
I'm finding that very true. Cool thing is, as I get outside my comfort zone more often, the bigger my comfort zone is.

No need to be nervous, glad you found us.
The Friends and Family of Alcoholics forum can be found here: https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...ly-alcoholics/ There are probably many threads there you can relate to.
You might also find the stickies section at the top of that forum helpful, might want to start here if you are interested:

Hi Blanch
Welcome - as Anna said you are very welcome to post in this forum too, as you're a newcomer....I don't want you to feel at all like you posted in the wrong place
I'm sorry for your breakup - i always say that back then there were 3 parties in my relationships, me, my partners and booze/pot.
I know you'll find help and support here at SR
