I could use some help

I’m drunk now and it’s morning where I live. I love sobriety and every week I get 3-4 days of that bliss. I’ve been drinking since last Friday and am not scheduled to work until this Friday. I want to stop now but I have alcohol in the house. I guess I need some accountability. Help?

Welcome. Coming here is a great start. Accountability is a two way street. You can declare the desire to get sober. We can support you in that decision. But you have to do the work.

Start by dumping the booze.

When I drank during the day it always led to longer periods of withdrawal. I agree with Carl, dump the booze and get ready for Friday...it may take a few days for you to feel well.

Good luck and take care of yourself, your on a path now that leads to misery. Change the road your on....

If you quit today, you should be ready for work on Friday. Withdrawals are horrible but there is not a way around them. To help me recover I used to eat creamy or cheesy foods and drink Gatorade. Try to get some nutrition and fluids. Wishing you the best.

On a bender since last Friday... sounds like your dependence is increasing and it's getting harder to have those 3-4 days sober a week. I'm not much further along but I wish you the best in making the decision to be done.

Dump the poison
And make this your day one
It's gonna be so worth it

Telling you like it is because we’ve been there! How’s it going?

Pour it down the sink and don't get any more. In order to stay sober you've got to want to be sober more than you want to drink.

Being here is proof enough to me that something inside you wants to change your life. I know there was something in me that did. And SR was the strongest, most important arrow in my quiver that helped me slay my beast.

Welcome to SR as a non-lurker. There's work to be done.

Feeling quite ill but I have gotten some food and water and vitamins down. Today is a wash but I should be able to be productive tomorrow and will be feeling good on Friday. No clue why I continue doing this to myself.

I agree, alcoholism is cunning and baffling. Stay in the present, and take it one breath at a time if you need to. It will get better...
