Itchy skin and hair loss

Has anyone experienced (rather sudden) hair loss and itchy scalp and skin while still drinking?

Both can be symptoms of alcohol abuse mainly due to the lack of nutrients absorbed by the body when drinking excessively. It can also be a sign of liver issues. There is a lot of medical evidence about skin conditions being caused by drinking too. If you are concerned it’s best to see a doctor as it could be something completely unrelated too. Best of luck x

I experienced skin and hair issues especially the last year of drinking. I quit drinking 148 days ago. There's been a significant improvement in my skin, hair, muscle tone, eyes and the list goes on and on.

my skin was alligator dry when I stopped drinking, even though I would use moisturizer daily. Stopped the wine, increased the water and poof, problem solved for me. Disclaimer- always bring this up to your doctor,

Most likely male pattern baldness. When you start going bald it causes itchiness, trust me i know

Itchy skin can be a sign of bilbrium building up in the skin due to poor function of liver or pancreas, you should get it checked by doctor. If it is that the only solution is to stop drinking.

remember guys - we can share our experience, but no diagnoses or treatment suggestions please. That's medical advice by our rules.
