Amazing - AA works - used to never listen to smart people here
It's been a while since I have been here. Came and posted so many times, but never tried AA till this time, and I have to say, it works.
Also found https://aachats.org/aa-chat-room-alcoholics-anonymous/ Where people are around to chat all the time.
Now that I am doing AA, and working the program I am now at 78 days and I never thought this was possible. I don't have the urge to drink or anything. Wish I had listened to people who told me to do AA, instead of always having excuses why I couldn't or wouldn't.

Awesome, thanks for sharing!
There's nothing more frustrating than to hear somebody say "AA didn't work for me", and then when asked about what action they took get dead silence. AA doesn't "work" for anyone, we work the steps... or not.

It’s so true. AA works only if we work it. And if it works for me it can work for anyone. So many excuses I had and I now see them for what they are:
I have anxiety
I am embarrassed
I have an important job and can’t let people see me
Could hurt my reputation
Etc etc etc.
All the same excuses I had and none of them are valid.
This place is great and if only I had listened earlier, I would of saved myself a lot of pain.

The important thing is you had the chance to listen, and you finally did! Now, you are working that and seeing the promises. That's the gift!
PS it took me forever to get it, relatively speaking. But I got it and I am never letting go of the life I have now. I know with certainty that I took my very last chance and do not get another.
