Hi New member here.

Day 1 again - feels like groundhog day.

After 30 years of alcohol abuse/addiction/dependency (whatever I need to call it) I need a fresh start. I have had many false starts trying to give up, the last failure only last night, I feel this is my last chance before I'm lost forever down the slippery slope of addiction.

I've never fallen of the cliff totally but sometimes I feel this is what I need to do to get over my addiction, sounds stupid I know.

Any advise would be great. Thanks for listening.

Keep your brain busy (read, computer games, anything) - keep hydrated - keep reading and posting and join the September class tomorrow All of these worked for me and I'm coming up to 20 months.
Good luck and if I can do it after zillions of false starts, trust me you can do it too
Oh and see your Doctor, if you have anything that worries you x

Read around, post as much as you like, see what other people are doing - you're sure to find a way that resonates with you
